1) Who am I?
I am a creative and entrepreneurial web developer and designer; my beat includes the world of animation, exploring both 3D and 2D media. As a college graduate, one of my proudest achievements was redesigning the layout for the college newspaper. I revamped the original design to make it more user-friendly and attractive. Recently, I have taken up digital video - check out my latest works of wonder.
2) What is my approach and experience in web development?
I am very detail oriented. My specialty is site design and front-end development using HTML, CSS, and other languages. I have a working knowledge of Javascript and JQuery. I believe life is a continuous lesson in learning and growing.
I have four years of experience in the web industry working part time on the Stern College web site and as an intern for the university's Communications and Public Affairs Department working on various projects. Some examples of websites that I have worked on are Pacific Torah Institute and the YU Beacon.
3) Where am I based?
I have lived in New York City since starting college in 2007. This spring I will be graduating with a degree in Computer Science and Graphic Arts from a joint program at Yeshiva University and the Fashion Institute of Technology.
4) When did I fall in love with computers?
Since I was a child, the computer held a magnetic appeal. I never liked the outdoors, and if it was an option between a glitter and glue project or World of Warcraft, I chose the latter, hands down. Every summer growing up I attended computer camps and was exposed to the wide, wide world of the web and its unlimited possibilities - I was hooked.
When I was 12 I started seeing the computer as a tool of massive proportions. In computer camp, I was introduced to 3D animation, Visual Basic, C++, Java and HTML. I continued exploring these and other applications through high school. I entered college and took the natural choice of declaring a computer science major, ultimately shaping it to include other aspects that I loved. This worked especially well for me as I was able to incorporate my technical and analytical side with my creative side.
5) Why me?
It is the client's vision that jumpstarts and continues to drive the projects I do. Herman Hesse once said, "Everything becomes a little different as soon as it is spoken out loud." I am an advocate of open communication on all levels whether verbal, online media, in-person, or textual. Bringing my experience, eagerness, insight, and creativity to the table, highlights the value I place on personal service. Communication is not only an asset: it is key. Share your ideas with me, and as the conversation continues it will become a 'little different' -- but I guarantee, this difference is what makes it incredible.
